Lab Safety Workshop

About This Event

Please join us for a free, personalized, hands-on lab safety workshop. Participants of the workshop will:

  • Have an awareness of potential hazards in their laboratory and working environment
  • Know a simple methodology (AMP Model – Assessment Mitigation Performance) that can be used to reduce the risk posed by those hazards.
  • Make a commitment to individual, laboratory and institutional safety
  • Implement laboratory safety best practices

This is a brown-bag lunch event so bring your own lunch! Soft drinks and water will be provided. This workshop is free – but you do need to register!

Lora Grainger Project SAFE Lab

About The Speaker

With 12 years working in the biological sciences (I have my PhD in Microbiology), 7 years in biosafety (I worked previously at Sandia National Laboratories), and nearly a lifetime of involvement in science education outreach efforts, I’ve decided to combine my experience, passion, and work ethic into a new creation – Project SAFE Lab! This is a workspace, a project, where we can come together to make a difference in the world – one SAFE laboratory at a time.
