Stuart Rose, founder of The BioScience Center, has a unique idea. He created The BioScience Center as an incubator/accelerator for startups in bioscience and life sciences. With eight wet (chemistry and biology) labs, its the only place in Albuquerque with laboratory space outside of the University or Federal lab. These labs are for use by its tenants, but can also be rented by non-tenants in need of wet lab space.
Stuart’s intention is to provide a collaborative and innovative enviornment with a network of business advisors to assist in business development, mentoring, financing and investment and provide education and program to help the startups succeed. He may have a personal stake in these startups success as well, with an offer to reduce rent for some tenants in exchange for equity in their companies.
For these reasons, he was named one of Albuquerque Business First’s People to Watch in 2013!
